1. Who controls your data

Songelle Ltd is the data controller for the information you give us. If you have any questions or want to exercise your rights, email hello@songelle.com.

2. What we collect

• Your order details: the recipient's name, your story, and the style choices you make in the questionnaire, plus any optional gift message or sender name.
• Contact details: the email address you give us so we can deliver the song and send order updates.
• Payment information: handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment but never see or store your full card details.
• Usage data: basic analytics about how the site is used, to help us improve it (see Cookies and analytics below).

3. How we use it

• To create and deliver your song, and to provide your private reveal page.
• To take payment and prevent fraud.
• To send you order and delivery updates about your purchase.
• To send occasional offers and song ideas — only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To run and improve the service, and to meet our legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

We process your order information to perform our contract with you, your marketing preferences with your consent, and analytics and fraud prevention under our legitimate interests in running a safe, working service.

5. Who we share it with

We share data only with the providers who help us run Songelle — including Stripe (payments), our hosting and storage providers, our email provider, and our analytics provider. They act on our instructions and only for these purposes. We never sell your data, and your story is never shared or shown publicly.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and a privacy-conscious analytics tool to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We don't use them to build advertising profiles of you.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your order and the finished song for as long as needed to provide the service, honour our guarantee, and meet legal and accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@songelle.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security and international transfers

Your story is kept on secure storage and your finished song lives behind a private link only you and the people you share it with can open. Where data is transferred outside your country, we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies.
